Message from our Executive Director

Dear Graduate,

Do you remember the first day that you walked into TISOH? You were excited, a little nervous, ready to make friends, and ready to build a career. Now that your studies at the school are coming to an end, I hope you will bring with you the same sense of excitement, enthusiasm, and passion to all that you do in your new careers.

My remarks at graduation usually focus on the need to get involved. As human beings, we are naturally social. That is what has made this period of pandemic difficult, right? The hospitality industry thrives precisely because people are social.

As you continue with your career, I encourage you, even more than before, to get involved. Get involved with others who share the same career and passion. Stay involved with TISOH by joining the alumni association. Regularly visit TISOHnext.com, this special website designed just for alums, to keep everyone connected. Join industry associations. Volunteer, join a committee, run for a board position. You will make new friends. When jobs open up, people will think of you.

Your network and the special connections you build with people are more important than ever.

Thank you for being a part of the TISOH family. We are, and will be, here to help. Don’t be a stranger. We wish you happiness and success, always.

Sincerely,

Timothy LAM
